Originally called "Bejewelled", it all started when Joy Baldwin, an American who was brought up in Greece, launched the non-profit in order to realize a long-term vision that was permanently seared into her memories after a haunting and traumatic visit to the brothels of Athens with Nea Zoi many years ago.
